Ive kept a paddle tail newt, had it for like 6 yrs. Most NA streams species do well in 50-60 degree temps which is a tad to cool for Paddle tails. Mines mouth was small could only eat small guppies, mealworms, and other small worms. It was like 5-6 inchs long, only like 3 or 4 when I got it.Noto;3485045; said:Paddletails, and newts in general, prefer the same cool temps as darters. Paddletails happily eat guppies and large nightcrawlers in captivity.
