feed my plecos potatoes as treats. just slice up a baking potato, and soak/wash it for a bit- remove the starch-is harmful. it'll sink, unlike cucumber. i remove any cucumber/potato the next morning regardless of how much eaten. my tupence
Be careful with your water changes. I've found the Gold Nuggets to be very sensitive to water temp, any sudden changes. I currently have one housed in a 125 along with plenty of other plecos. He seems to get along good so far. Not really interested in cucumbers but i have had others that were. I think the nuggets are the best looking plecos though. Right up there with the zebras. Good luck....
AFAIK, some species are specialized for eating wood, not just chewing on it. Seems the driftwood is an important part of the diet of many plecos... GN usually can't do it without a piece of driftwood. Your menu looks just fine. Goor luck with you plecos and keep us updated.
