how to catch a turtle and how long can they last in saltwater?

It is going to be put into the pond at a local japanese tea garden with koi and a bunch of other turtles. I'll put up a pic of the turtle today

Minnow Magnet and me live on lagoons in alameda thzt stretch through the backyards of alot of houses
