The most successful way of choosing a male flowerhorn fry is to:

1. The best way to choose your flowerhorn fry is by looking at the fins of the fish, the males will have a high fin and will be a little colorful. They will have no black marks on the top fin.

2.The mouth of the fish, their mouth will be short and not pointed.

3. They will have eyes that will be a little bit wider then their mouth
(May only apply for 0.9 to 1.4 inches)

4. Their nuchal hump may be showing out of there head.

(May only apply for 1.5 to 2 inches

5. They will have a lot of color in them and will have a nice straight or big flower line.

6. The size compared to other Flowerhorns. I’ve choose this one last due to my experience a fry I predicted was a male was big compared to others, shown a black mark on her fin showing it was a female.

Sorry your post is full of inaccuracies:

1. Black marks can appear on the dorsal fins of male flowerhorns that have a double flowerline.
2. Mouth of the fish is determined mostly by genetics. Not gender.
3. I have never seen any evidence of the size of the eyes determining gender in flowerhorn.
4. Females can have large nuchal humps.
5. Females can have a lot of color and be showing signs of a nuchal hump.
