How To Clean A Fish Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree i've never gravel vac'd like that..:screwy:, and i've never used a filter pad as a glass cleaner either.

Um if i still worked at petco i would refer people to this vid in a heartbeat. Maybe this isn't the kind of maintenance serious or more experienced people do, but for the majority of people who aren't, this type of simple method is great. A LOT of people have no idea what the nitrogen cycle is, let alone knowing that you need to gravel vac, do water changes, etc. Sadly things need to be as cheap and convenient as possible for many people. Try to think of people who think goldfish belong in bowls, and fishkeeping is hit or miss and fish "just die."

She's sucking on my hose!!
I have the same siphon:D

I have a similar but larger model of the same siphon :D

anyone know why she took the lid off... and rocks out... and used a filter pad as a glass cleaner...
when i do gravel vacs i leave EVERYTHING in and on the tank... i only unplug the heater so it doesnt urn out once its out of water... generally i dont take out enough water to make it difficult for the filter to run.

A lot of people remove decorations to clean underneath them, especially if they have a thick substrate... so that part wasn't all too surprising to me...
