How to convert 4-5" NTT's off live food?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had an ntt that was about that size that wouldn't even look at any other food but feeders, I finally got sick of feeding him and decided ef it, if he eats he eats if not then whatever. It took four months!!! He started looking at shrimp, but wouldn't eat it, another month till he took shrimp but wouldn't swallow, and I finally tried tilapia fillet, man he hit the stuff so hard I couln't believe it happened!! Moral of the story: I starved a dat that cost me 70 bucks for nothing, I should have just tried the tilapia from day one...lol Suggestion: Try different things, the best bet is to get him on blood worms, if you can do that then you can freeze a chunk of shrimp covereved in blood from the worms and the fish tends to eat it because it still thinks that it is blood worms. Until you truly get sick of feeding it feeders you will never have a shot at any results. Don't give in.

don't feed anymore live feeders its as easy as that

EAT OR DIE is my rules i use this method with very expensive fish i have never had one die yet

expect the tiger to go as long as 6 weeks without eating

be strong and don't give in

i got 8 out 12 tigers on pellets. some did straight away. others e few weeks, and the fussier ones several months. ill post again when all 12 are on pellets

try frozen Hiraki krills, I just bought two 5" Ntt datnoid that the previous owner kept on feeding live and when i threw some frozen hikari krills into the tank both of them snap at it real fast.

Hey guys I had my 5 x 4-5" NTT's for about a week now. Everything seems good with them. Problem is they won't accept anything but feeders. I've fed them 3 times minnow size feeders and now I stopped buying them cuz locally they are hard to find the size I need. Is it ok to starve them at this size? I've tried frozen blood worms, mysis shrimp and krill and they don't seem to bite...Is there another way or anyone know how to convert them off live? Help is much appreciated.

Thanks.
What is an NTT?
