How to create a vortex?

A vortex is water spinning around an axis. I doubt this is what you want, but will be cool. Get a powerhead

No, the outlet is underwater connected to a spraybar right? so if you take the spraybar off and angle the outlet so its rippling the surface, but not making sound, it will solve your problem.

yeah i tried that it didnt work, still had a layer on the surface.

I was told by an aquarium in my area i need to bring the spray bar above the water line so it will break the surface of the water, draggin the film down.

I heard that lily pipes can create vortex but i cant get them in my area, so was looking for a different way to achieve.

is there such thing as a surface skimmer that can take water from the surface and also from the bottom of the tank?
