Your petstores should have that. Take a look there.

Saying bad water conditions cause the presence of ich is rather misleading. Bad water conditions DO cause stress which in turn causes the ich to appear as outbreaks immediately. HOWEVER, ich can only be introduced if one of the fish is already carrying it. Unquarantined specimens make a nice entry point for ich towards your other stocks. That is why you SHOULD quarantine every new fish for 3-4 weeks, no less than that.

Hehe, thanks Lupin, you didn't need to disect my posts! lol
You just said the same thing I did.. but with more words inbetween, but thanks for the clarification anyhow!

Maybe you should get a new heater as well.. having a somewhat broken heater that's on all the time and doesn't show the light when it is on can be lethal to your fish as well.. the heater can go haywire and overheat your tank killing your fishies! .. I've heard some pretty bad horror stories about not fulling functioning heaters! Best of luck to you! :D

well i think its the thermoneter cause when i stick my hands in it doesnt feel like its above 80 ( i have it set at 76 for awhile to test the heater out ) but the thermoneter says 82 84

If you're confident with the heater, then by all means keep it!
Probably try the thermometer out first since it is cheaper. :)

Your thermometer can register room temperature which makes it rather inaccurate.

Where is the heater situated? In turbulent areas?

Buy the internal thermometer, determine temperature and post it here. If accurate, you can determine from there whether the heater is working properly or not.

well im getting payed tomm and im goin to try to get a friend to bring me to a lfs so i can get a new thermometer but i just took the stick on temputer gadge and moved it to the middle of my tank so ill let you now if its chanved or not

Yes, that one works fine. Convicts and mollies can't break that. What other fish do you have?
