Thanks for the tips. Yeah it isn't tempered. I have used the lube on the smaller stuff and no issues. I know the one pass deal. The dims on the tank I want to cut down is 72"*18"*30". I would have loved this to have been 30" wide not tall but hey I can't complain as I got it for $30...lol...
I wouldn't be cutting the bottom of it and that would be the only one plausible to be tempered.
I remember reading everywhere that the cutters only worked up to .5" glass.
I was also torn about just getting a .5" pane of glass for a front and making it a 72"*30"*18" just not sure if the .5" at 18" would need a brace or not. Or if it would work out ok with the rest being thicker.
I originally got the tank as a set of windows for my ray pond to be built but I think I am going to make that different instead of a plywood build.
Still pondering ideas and some still involve cutting it so all the info is helpful. There really is no shop to cut glass around here to speak of.
If I were to try to cut it should I do the tapping to get it started to ease the cut?
