How to differentiate 3 bar IT and ST

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
mmmmmmm not 1 but 2 RTC as you live in sing i know you must have a pond for them the small IT looks like RTC feeder

when people ask for a ID we need pics of both sides as something that looks ST from one side may be a IT for sure from the other side this is a nice tiger what ever it is and at sg$300 it was a good buy

Haha, yea the RTCs and TSN have been sold to my friend. I dont have a pond. Naaa the IT is about 11" too big for the RTC they have been living together for almost a year. For My Tiger fish its the same on both sides, the thing is it's super stable, for an IT. Usually when I.T gets scared or being put in my tank they'll be unstable for the first day or so, color change and they get darker. But for this "3 bar IT" it sticks to the color super stable even when frighten, color sticks to Banana Yellow.

You say same on both sides but it only takes a few slight differences to make it IT or ST

So please show pictures of both sides

It's good you sold the cats as your tank was much to small for them

The ST will have three 000's on the price.
The 3 bar IT will have two 00's
. Lol

No, seriously,
The ST is usually always stable
Has 3 bar with the middle bar sweepin back to a tapered point.
ST has more of a taller shape , although some Indos also have this but not many.
The tail usually has only 1 stripe on it. The IT usually always have 2 small stripes on the tail .
Now go in the media lounge and look for recent threads with really high post count, there have been several discussions about "IT or ST"

You will find more details there. Alot more.

honestly i have read a bunch of different things to look for some people agree on some people don't agree on. from what people have said u can never really be sure. yeah someone will say i have had datnoids for 30+ years and i can tell. but u some times can't ever be 100% personally i think it could swing either way but if i had to say something then i would say IT because of the tail stripes
