How to fatten up fish fry?

Hi,

I got a little Sajica fry about 3/4 inch. Its in a 10 gallon now. So far I been giving it crushed fish flakes, and I see it nibble a little bit sometimes.


I know some poeple feed frys several times a day, but I cut back to only 2 times. Reason is, the fish doesnt understand when its time to eat, it hasnt figured it out yet. And because of this it gets the tank messy. So any ideas on how to get this fry eating more and growing while not making a mess?
 
i like a fry tank near a window. well lived in, full of algea for them to graze on, and micro bugs. sorry but i a not into high end terms.
 
I crush every fish food I have hikari,flakes,algae waffers.... The only difference is I have lots of fry so when I walk into a room they go nuts and come to the top for food.In your case just spot feed them little tiny bits at a time so you dont dirty the water.
 
Ive seen him nibble on the ground and sponge filter. I got some kinda little worms from my shrimp tank tranfer there. I think hes eating some of them. Not many of them though, they came from the sponge filter. I did a good water change yesterday cause a saw some flakes on the ground uneaten.


So I am being cautious about water quality. I got some floating plastic plants and I think the fry likes it, cause I see him hiding in it alot. It just kinda hard getting him to focus and eat food.
