Well i finally got approval to have my house raised. I live Louisiana. My problem is, the house will be without power for 1-2 weeks. So i have to drain the tank and move the fish to my mothers house. There temp home will be a stock rubbermaid tank. Probably 150g. The only problem is having to adequate filtration for the time. I was thinking a canister would work good, but they say they can't be at the same level as the tank. Has anyone used one in such a way with success, or what are my other options?

Or an overhead filter. You know, similar to a gravity operated pond filter.

Water gets pumped into the filter and pours back into the pond/tank/tub via gravity. Simple.

cinder blocks are only $2 each. It will take about 10 blocks to make a short stand

I agree if you alreayd have filtration, get a few Cinder blocks and a piece of board from Home Depot, and there you have it, a ready made stand, elevation solved for a little of nothing. I do it all the time. By the way the city should be getting ready for Thursday hey!! Who Dat!
