In the past I used to get multiple wholesale lists.

Part of the reason is that I usually purchase a certain kind of fish in large quantities once per year.

Im looking to get into that again - but wanted to test the waters.

Im having difficulty finding anything special as far as wholesalers go online - so if anyone has recommendations about how to find or get in contact with some of these people, that would be great.

I know that people on here are doing it, importers as well.

Im not looking to take a share of the business - but I do need to order a large quantity of fish at a reasonable price.

If need be people can send me information via PM as well.

I just need a few suggestions, a name, or an email address.

Thanks for the help

It would probably help if you stated what fish you are interested in ordering as most wholesale suppliers specialize in certain groups of fish, such as South American, Central American, African, saltwater, etc.

South American fishes.

Thank you - I will contact dolphin

They have a $1000 minimum purchase. And only directly deal with wholesalers. I'm in the works of buying out my lfs and I may be able to get them as my wholesaler. The owner has been using them since the 70s. And we are working with them to continue business with me

Nice - yes these orders would not be $1000 right away.

I got in touch with my old wholesaler yesterday...but unfortunately they do not have what I need.

So I am looking for a South American Source that is more reliable.

Is there any way you may be able to deal with the shippers in South America. There is a guy here in Alberta that brings in fish from S.A. and as far as I know he is not a wholesaler.

Yea, I dont think you need to be either.

There are (or have been) people on this website that have gotten wholesale or import and then just sold fish out of their homes on this site (Im sure thats how plenty of "speciality" odd ball fish stores start)

Question is - how do you break into that.

Again, not looking for a share of the pie, just a way to get SA fish in for research cheaply.
