How to get a protective sheath onto a Rays Barb

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
unless its a large ray above 7inch dont bother

but if its a large ray hold the tail with thick garden gloves on and push airline on not to hard

If the ray bite through the first bag, wouldn't water gushed out of the bag ? with or without pond liner

if im moving the ray myself not shipping i normally put them directly in the polybox no bags

they dont normally bite the bags and you stand more risk of biteing with piranha or other toothed fish

Yes if they break the first bag water will leak, thats why you have a 2nd and preferably 3rd bag. They will loose some water into the 2nd bag but will still keep most of there water and oxygen.

This is why it is important to tie all the bags together because the inner bag can and will deflate if punctured which could suffocate the ray. If tied together the outer bag will still keep most of the air and water in the inner bag.

The 15" ray I recieved from John did this. Still made it fine.
