How to get a red wolf on pellets

I’ve been considering getting a red wolf and I’d rather know everything I can about them before having one. I know they can eat pellets but is it easy to get them eating them? I would still give shrimp/frozen fish as a treat. Also what is a good pellet for them?

Easy. Just give it a day b/w feedings and give the pellet. My old red took pellets w/o difficulty.

I didnt have a hard time, he liked fresh fish chunks with pellets in them to just pellets tho, my black i have now wants no business with pellets

Had a Purple that excepted all the brand pellets I offered.

I have a purple wolf who eagerly eats Massivore Delite, Hikari Floating Food Sticks, and shrimp pellets. He also eats live feeders that I breed, but he is mainly on Massivore. Not showing much interest in freeze dried krill, meal worms or crickets. But he'll eat 3 to 5 Massivore every other day. He's around 7" or so.

Same here. My Ery took pellets so easy. The key is to starve it. Soon Ery will recognize pellet as the favourite healthy menu. Now my Ery only eats pellets, dried worms and krill. No feeder fish for months.

have this problem with a black I got last weekend. It ate a minnow at the LFS but it haven’t eaten since. Been offering carnivore sinking for the past 5 day but I havent seen hi eat it so idk if it ate some when i was not around..he’s 3”.. any tips?
