My brine shrimp should be hatching in the next few hours so I would like to know the best way to get the shrimp out without getting the eggs. I've heard siphoning the out or pouring the water through a coffee filter, so what is the best way? Thanks in advance.

EASY.....When you are positive that most of the brine have hatched, let the water settle.....Get a light source(flashlight) and leave it on at the bottom of the bottle(hatchery)....The young will be attracted to the light and soon they all will be swimming towards the light, collecting at the bottom of the bottle....Simply siphon the bottom when you see the bottom thick with red young brine.....:headbang2

I have a slightly different variation to the same idea. I use a round plastic 2L bottle with the bottom cut off and when I harvest, I unplug the airline from the airpump to let it settle for a couple of minutes. Since the bottle is round and upsidedown it forms a cone where the baby brine collect. I use the same airline to drain the shrimp out by using gravity. I dont use a coffee filter but a cheap silk hankerchief which I can rinse off.

Same idea, just a variation which is easier for me.
