How to get Jack Dempseys on spinach?

Seedubs1, No offense intended. I have enjoyed keeping JD`s for more than 40 years and appreciate you wanting good dempsies. I also have no appreciation of domestic color strains. The fact JD are easy keepers is a big part of why they are so popular after so many years in the hobby. JD are so tough you can go months without a water change and they seem un-effected. I also agree that they do not care much what you feed them. They eat almost anything you throw at them and beg for more.

Feeding JDs (or most CA cichlids) NLS, Xtreme or another high quality prepared food is a good diet.

Best thing you can do is an extra water change (or two) and a day or two of fasting per week.

Matt

Seedubs1 also makes a good point - pelleted foods like NLS contain vegetable matter along with other essential nutrients.
There are no NLS where I am, thats why im asking about real veggies.

Thanks everybody. :)

The last time I ordered fish food from online, I found it half empty with the wrong pellet inside... There are quality pellets its just all of the quality herbivore pellets are too big for my jd.

Just get a bucket of NLS thera +A. They sell it online in any size you want in a large variety of quantity sizes. There is FOR SURE a pellet size that will work for your JD. I've raised fry on the stuff.

I got a 5 pound bucket on Amazon for $50 or $60 with no issues. It won't come half empty or with the wrong pellets inside unless you're ordering from some shady individual or something. If it does, Amazon has buyer protection, and you can just send it back.
