how to get my pl*co out of hiding

I found these great new fake plants tied to rock so he wont throw them around, more of those are going in.
As for pleco bites, he still despises my hand.
Any way to get algae growth on the walls? He seems to like that.

starve him with no food in the tank for like 48 hours. Then put their favorite treat in.
Thats how i do head counts of my plecos.

oh and poking them is never a good idea. My little guys (about 4cm) tear my fingers apart. and stab the hell about them.

Lol if you want him to come out give him more places to hide? This way you have no idea where he is.

If you want to see him then take out all the hides and I guarantee you will see him 100% of the time. Plecos are meant to drift in with their surroundings and go unnoticed, if you want a fish that swims around get a neon tetra or soemthing.

For algae add sunlight, and then you'll get plenty. As for the question, we moved our large common into another tank recently and it used to live under the filter so we build it a slate cave and again it went under there never to be seen again. To solve the problem we built a new wide exposed cave in the middle of the tank and surrounded it in wood and now he lives there quite happily and we can see him.

They're nocturnal, hiding during the day is what they do. Take a peek into the tank at 2 AM and you'll see him scooting around looking for food. He's never going to cruise the tank in the daytime like a Platy looking for food. My little Bristlenose just bit me the other day when I took him out to check him over and make sure he was alright :-O He hides so much during the day that I have to make a special point of checking on the little guy. He didn't appreciate my concern lol

ill feed my bloodworms alot. and i notice they love to come out now when i throw them in the tank. thats when i see mine swimming around the most.

a little off topic, but could i add another plec like a bristlenose or will they fight?

How long could I keep him in my 55gal?
He's about 7inches now
