how to get the cucumber to sink?

how you guys make the pieces of cucumber to sink down to the bottom of the tank for your pleco? Sometime I have to crush the cucumber or use steel wire to make it sink down and that is kinda annoying!

I tie it to a rock with a rubberband and let it sink

You can try sweet potato for the plecos instead. Most of the time the fresh sweet potato will sink without weights. The older ones tend to float because it may have been dehydrated somewhat. My plecos still comes up to the top to eat either way. Regular potatoes alway sink not matter old or new. Good Luck.

I just stick a fork in it and tie a piece of fishing line to the fork for retrieval

I bought something called a screwcumber off of ebay that works great, it's basically a corkscrew that's fish safe

I have some old plant anchors from live plants that I've bought. I just run them through any Veggie I feed my Plecos.
