You have a Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus (aka as a common (1 of 3 kinds of commons)). They can reach over 20 inches. I had one that was 19.5 inches.

What I did to make mine big was lots of water changes, lots of feeding, and lots of room.

I fed my commons shrimps pellets and a weekend pellet(s)(look like a brown log), I believe it was made by tetra but haven't used or seen it in a long time.
well I guess I leave mine and just continue feeding the omega one wafers I have here and after there all gone maybe I will try algea logs I saw in the store here for him, ive put shrimp and such in the tank but he doesn't care for it ...I try to do reg weekly WC of 80% as well already

Ive got a common pleco, his/her name is clem. 14 inches now, got him at petsmart, was only 2 inches big. Clem has been threw a lot and my prized baby for 3 years now.

Beast of a fish!

Got a new addition too! Early, albino sailfin umm I'd say he's 3inches. Sadly he's sick with camalanus but I've got medicine on its way. Poor thing :(
