I have a small Black Convict, it has a rad patch on it's breast, and it doesn't seem to be growing, I don't currently have any pics of it. Could you tell me what this fish's gender is and how to tell in the future so I can get it a companion.

Females will have red/orange on their belly. Females will also typically stay smaller than males.
The picture on here is of a male. Females will have the orange patch and also some orange on the fins sometimes. My convcts stayes the same size it seemed for months but now they got big enough to eat the hikari pellets I feed my oscars, they are growing so fast. the male is probably full size now, quite big.
SMall red patch on the belly only means that the speciman is female................It is not hard to pair this type of species and breed...........Just get the opposite sex and give or take a week or two, and there will be a new spawn to take of.............
