I have admired the Jardini arowanas for their tough demeanor and their snakelike appearance, so I am considering getting one for my 65 gallon. I know this tank is small, but it is temporary until i can move my 125 gallon in. I have heard that a common disease with arowanas is drop eye. How can this be prevented and are there any other diseases I should keep a "eye" out for?

Keep it happy? Feed it, clean the tank / regularly change water and buy a 180 instead of a 125.....at the very least.

The only thing is that its gonna take a little redesigning my living room or i can move to a different place within the next year and then upgrade. Which in turn will result in less moving stuff around. Plus my 65 glass is heavy

125 should be find for a jar for a while. i rarly hear jar get drop eye but still can.

Does it matter? Sounds as if your mind is made up. Get the jardini eventually it will grow too large for the 125g tank, when that happens you can then decide if you are gonna do the right thing or not.

Yes jardini can get DE, though it is very rare. There is nothing you can do to prevent it.
