How to kill fish?

any fish store and most fishkeepers would take those fish if they're free, especially the polleni

you can give fish away, no problem. anywhere in the world. triple E would be the most humane way of doing this. followed by freezing them

Yeah man. NEVER put aquarium fish in a lake. That's why so many aquatic ecosystems are so messed up. Somebody doesn't want a big oscar and throws it in a lake/river. Even if it's not the right climate for it to survive, who knows what viruses that fish could be carrying that have no effect on the oscar but could decimate native fish that have never been exposed to it. While simply releasing fish seems more humane that euthanasia, if you look at the big picture, it's much worse.

oh well i guess you have no chioce then you can allways flush them if they arent too big

i learned my lesson with big fish though i flushed a 2 bass down the toilet once and it got stuck >_<

This thread is really bothersome to me. I feel sorry for the fish. I wish you had been more responsible before buying fish. To simply be like oh im sick of them so i'm gonna kill them, that is horrible.
I don't think you have really made an effort to give them away or sell them, bc I know for a fact there are lots of ppl who want them.

And i am also sad to know that ppl on this forum have flushed fish down the toilet while they are alive. I guess I assumed everyone was fish lovers here who respect these beautiful creatures, and take fish keeping seriously. Very disappointing to read some of the comments and even this thread.

Im sick of my fish, I cant sell them, (even at a low price / fish store doesnt want it back) I dont have the room to keep them so I am going to kill them. Any idea? or method for easy death?

I tried to use cooking oil on a sick goldfish before, but it take hours and its still breathing...

Should I bag them up and throw them into the freezer?

What should I do?

3 polleni ~ 6", 4" and 3.5"
1 pike cichlid ~ 7"

would you do the same to a dog or cat? pretty sorry imo

if you're in miami, look into the local canals and see for yourself the result of people just letting go of the oscars, rd etc, that got too big

uh they were lake bass

and i had them for 3 months and they were dying i was 13 at the time >_> i didnt know any better
