I find it unfortunate that you are having trouble finding a home for these fish. I also agree that you should really think about how much you are valued by your ex if she cannot accept your hobby. Also, try to give yourself a couple of days before you make rash decisions, you will benefit from it.

On the issue of euthenasia, clove oil is the best way, IMO.

I am astounded by the judgemental attitudes that have been expressed. Although I don't agree with just killing a fish, the negative comments aren't necessary.

sledge hammer. thats the way i got rid of my pesky red devils. but seriously, but them on craigslist for free or give them to the fish store for free. all lfs i know of wont pay for your fish but they will take them for free because they can sell them. i tried putting my red devils for sale on craigslist and got no responses, but then when i advertised them as free i got 5 responses in one day

Thanks for everyone's concern and input, its solved now...

I gave it to Big Als.. so.. no more arguing! no more about fishes33 euthanizing fish!

I hope they will find a better home than I just give it out to random people
