How to know if your JD Is a BGJD?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well then you could get some Bgjds and sell them or breed them back to your Ebjd. So it wouldn't hurt.

There's always that chance though. Gonna try to breed it with an EBJD and see what happens

Most EBJD are male, so to be honest you are going at this completely wrong imo. But good luck!

If you are serious about breeding ebjds you want to get a male ebjd and then get a positive bgjd. Most likly you would have to order online. The chances of you finding a mature female ebjd for a reasonable price is low. Not to mention a mature male jd could possibly kill a mature ebjd female as they are normally smaller and much less aggressive.

So even if you were able to find a mature f ebjd there is no way I would put it with a fish that you wernt sure if it carried the blue gene or not. Juvi ebjd are about 5x the price as regulars. (Atleast around me ebjd 25 jd 5). Those prices seem to stay the same as the fish grows.

I wouldn't put an 100 dollar fish with a 20 dollar fish with a small chance of success and some chance of death.

But maybe I'm frugal

I am 100% sure petco doesnt have or sell bgjds. If they had bgjds trust me they wouldnt miss out on the opportunity to sell them super expensive. They just dont sell them. Theyre not that stupid. And bgjds are no different than regular jds. Ive had 30 of these at one point. Couldnt not tell the difference in any one of them. There are no "looks" that make it obvious. You would have to breed it to ebjd and see what happens but again. Yours will probably not be bgjd. And if i may add as i see a trend in your threads andrew, dont ask for advice and when you dont get the desired response ignore the good advice your getting. Were trying to help not jip you. Your making it to the point where less and less people will reply to your threads. Good luck with your breeding project.
