I have a 30 gallon aquarium that I am converting into a sump. I have no ideal how to make baffles for the bubble trap and thought I would ask. I am going to buy a aqua C EV skimmer and don't want the micro bubbles getting sucked directly into the return pump. I am open to ideals or even temporary fixes. Here in about a month im going to buy a sump that is already built, its just I don't have the money right now and am going to try and make this 30 gallon work for now. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I actually have done looked that site over and over with nothing helpful. The guy who made that website (marc) lives 2 blocks over from me! Im just trying to find something that I can put in there that would work. Acrylic sheets from home depot can cost around $100!!!! Any marterial that would hold up to water would work for me, its just I dont have any ideals. Any other ideals would be appreciated.

Try a local plastics store instead of home depot. Same reason you shouldn't buy steel from HD, they're ridiculously over priced.

You dont have to use acrylic, you can use glass, but that site gives you the basics of how to lay it out.

glass or acrylic will work. Only reason I say acrylic is so I can cut it. Glass is cheaper but cost to have it cut which would be about the same I guess. Thanks for the input.

Found out that my local home depot sold glass in pre cut pieces that were in spec of what I was looking for! Spent $8 on glass and $6 on the tool that cuts the glass. Im glad I didn't jump into buying acrylic as I think glass will function and adhere better the acrylic. Thanks for all the help

Good stuff. BTW lowes sells glass also and you can get custom sizes there. Dont think it costs extra.. but may be wrong

but lowes glass is VERY thin i dont know how that would hold up under pressure. never looked at home depot cuz i am convertin a 30g to a sump as well. how thick of glass do they sell there? do they have different thickness or is it all the same. cuz at lowes they only sell one size thickness and its very thin.
