how do u make a hybrid i have a red devil and i want to breed it with another type of fish buy i have no idea how to do this? any remarks

try lighting a couple of candles and play some enya, put the tank light on dim, the best way to do that i found was just lay a dark thin towel over the top of the tank and there u have it the lights are dim. then hopefully they will be in the mood. lol.....................no man i have no idea but i would like to know

I am no expert either...but on South Park they made hybrid Sea Monkeys or Sea Men...(Sea Men = brine shrimp + semen).

Actually, you can only breed specimens that are closely related. You can't breed a goldfish with an oscar to make a self eating feeder fish. And you can't mix catfish with a polypterus, although that would be one wicked monster fish. On the other hand, if you breed a farm boy with sheep, you get sheep that follow you around all of the time.

Hope this helps

there are people on this site that know!!! but they will not share it with us ,we have to find out ourselves!!! that is why everytime i find something out , i create a thread about it,, so its out there, and can be googled. there are enough people in this world we can share info and still make money,,,,, or maybe im just crazy...

I don't understand the reason behind the question... here in Quebec in Canada, there is no more quality in farm fish because people doesn't want to pay the price to have fish. Instead to have 2 or 3 beautiful fish they want 10 or 12 poor quality fish. Everyone are free to breed fish but why producing ''hybrid''? Hope you will not sell your fish!!!!

I was wondering that myself. I just figured that they just put 2 different species together in a tank, and hope something happens.. but I was watching this thing on t.v., and it was about salmon. it was a local fish breeder and what he was doing, was raising a bunch of females, and then when it was time for the egg laying process, he would squeze out the eggs, what looked to be jus a big glass of water, and he would take sprem, and spray it all over the eggs. after I watched the show, I thought well can this be done with tropical fish as well. I don't see why not, the only thing I wonder, if you squeze the eggs out of the females belly will she die? and were the heck do you get all the sperm from, slaughtering the bunch of males? if that's the case, is it worth it, probably not to the fish, but to the new guy on the block, that's making $$$$$$$ why not there only fish, millions die everyday for the friday fish fry....

if anyone knows of the process, post it on here, I would like to read up on it ore.. there are alot of over seas breeders I think that are doing it this way.. where else do some of these fish come from...
