how to make a stand that holds two aquariums?

You could put a 5g and a 15g on a particle board shelving unit from walmart/target...

As long as you don't get it wet it would hold just fine.

I don't know what kind of crazy shelves walmart sells where you live, but I would never do this for a permanent aquarium setup. I've had those shelves collapse from just holding books.

Here's a pic of one of my old setups. I unfortunately can't seem to find more detailed pics of the build.

I initially built it to hold a 20L on top and a 20H on the bottom, but I ended up modifying the bottom part to hold tubs for my snakes. Similar idea to bud's, but instead of cutting a notch in a 2X4 I used doubled up 1X3s to make lap joints. I agree with bud's suggestion - even though a 5g doesn't weigh much it's probably a good idea to have your horizontal pieces supported by wood (not just screws) where they attach to the verticals.

I need to build a stand for a 20L/29G. I would have messaged you but I cant yet because I am a new member. If you could please reply or message me with how exactly to Build this stand and approx. How much it cost you. I am fairly crafty although I have never done anything with wood or something that 350 lbs depended on in my rental home. Also, How long have you had it? Is it still holding up well?

Thank you
