How to make bucket "aqua safe"

Why not just get a cooler or rubbermaid tub as suggested? Play it safe. The detergent residues can harm your fish even if it does not kill the fish instantly.

Walmart is a great place to pick up Rubbermaid for cheap. I got one for $5 with lid and worked great. You could always borrow your in laws favorite ice chest for fish. That's what they get for complaining about the electric bills.:D

I believe that a thorough rinsing with hot water would remove detergent... Using a mild bleech mixture would surely do the job...

But... as mentioned, there are better options with less 'risk' and also available for a very reasonable price... So I would buy myself a cooler...

 True true. My main love for these buckets other than their stability if the lid. The lid is the strongest lids on the face of the earth to try and pry off. Also forgot to mention the love of a handle...something I cant get with a rubbermaid. And as for the ice chests...even if they dont tip easily, one hard stop at a red light and I have wet floor mats :irked:
