How to make money in the aquarium hobby?

I was wondering of there was any way to make a little bit of money in the aquarium hobby because my tanks are getting a bit expensive for me to maintain.

Breeding and selling fish. You may not get a lot for taking fish in to the lfs, but the bit of store credit can help pay for extra stuff.

Breeding is a lot more of a hassle. Buying fish for deals then selling for a profit I find is better.

The only problem is I don't have any lfs around here. Only petco and petsmart.

Returns from petco, I got a like 5 inch clown poach at petco once for like 3 dollars and sold him for 25. Look at other LFS if you can find them I saw a jardini aro for 50$ near me

I tried that method once, I bought a $30 Flowerhorn and a week later he died from hexamita(I think).

At my local petco they always have fish prices mislabeled but they have to sell it for what it’s labeled as I’ve seen big OB peacock cichlids for a couple dollars along with a couple weeks ago my petco had alligator gar maybe 4-5” for 5$

The flowerhorn was very unusual because my petco sells mostly nano fish, with the occasional 3-4" cichlid. Deadeye do you think craiglist would work for like bettas or something?
