how to make my poly fat!

Shrimp have a sharp horn on their head... does that harm those fishes? I'm just curious coz i don't fed my fish shrimp coz I'm scared they might get hurt on those horns...

Actually I did feed w horny shrimps. oops I mean the horns on the shrimps. A few of my yamato shrimps died in my neon tetra tank before and I just dump e bodies into e bichir tank. They seem t be ok w/ it...

I bought a lapradei like a few weeks ago. My first one to date. Poor fella. His head was alot bigger than his body. Looked like a giant tadpole or something. So skinny. I feed twice daily w sinking pellets and monster pellets. He seems to be in good shape now. Not ALL lapz are lazy. Mine tries to get as much pellets as he can...or even 'steal' right from other polys while munching.

Based on what forumners post here is I guess the key to a fatty poly is "live or meaty foods"

Laps are not lazy! my lap is one of the most efficient hunters in the tank. i really think people just think they're lazy b/c you don't usually notice them eating. mine will inhale food so quick you won't notice unless you watch. she ate an entire market shrimp a couple days ago(accidentally dropped it in while cutting it:D) first time i have actually seen her "chew" in a long time.

anyways onto the fattening. laps don't fatten up like some of the other polys. they don't seem to get the same bulging shape of say an endli.

i feed mine frozen freshwater shrimp, catfish(occasionally), beefheart, sinking carnivore pellets, earthworms, shrimp pellets, and feeders for special treats. IMO "fattening" up polys is way overrated. i don't like my polys to look as though they sit on the couch all day drinking pabst and watching springer;). healthy thickness, but no rolls
