How to make thermometers stick?

I've had my new tank for a few weeks all of a sudden the thermometer keeps falling off the glass and floating in the water. This has happened to me so many times with previous tanks, can any one help me?

Check if your lfs has the jw smart temp thermometer, it uses a magnet

use the hook over kind. they make them in plastic and metal.. i use the cheap suction cup kind like you guys are having problems with. they are like 1.97 at wallmart. buy 2! remove the green suction cup and ring from 1 and add it on the other thermometer. now you have double the suction wich really helps. also, make sure you not only use your mag scrubbie to clean the mounting spot, use a washcloth and make sure there is and imaculate clean surface. hope this helps. stopped my broken thermometer problem too. my fish cant bang the glass tubes onto the glass anymore!

Walmart sells suction cup thermometers for like a dollar and they see to work pretty good so far

I went to digital thermometer with temp probe for all my large/aggressive fish. More costly but worth not having broken thermometer glass to clean out of your substrate all the time.
