Ow, i just got to travel there.
LOL, got some invitations by fishkeeping friends over there.

You'll should go! You'll have a blast! :D

Bring a couple of nice/new laptop computers to sell in your luggage (for "personal use" of course! :D) and you can almost finance your whole trip from the profits! (At least if you buy them in the U.S. on the cheap!)

who needs to rob a house, just pick the whole thing up and run away with the loot inside!

Crazy how other cultures live, thank you for the pics:)

knowdafish, im assuming since your location says socal/Phillipines you also live in the states but how does living in the Phillipines affect your fish keeping? do you just keep your pond? or tanks too? supplies readily available for fish?

It would be much easier to just cut a hole in the floor, and the rural people rarely have any "loot". :D

No fish in the U.S. as long distance feeding through the mail doesn't really work well. :D  I had a Red Asian Arowana and a plecostomus the last time I was here, but I sold the Aro for a profit and gave the buyer (a neighbor) the pleco. The (large) pond is a work in progress and I am thinking about either raising Tilapia or Asian Catfish to sell to the locals as food fish. They are :screwy: about fresh fish and will pay the price! Our property also has 6 rice paddies that could EASILY be turned into fish ponds also. Raising Tilapia for food makes alot more money than growing rice, but my father in law isn't so sure and will take some convincing. :D If we were closer to a market area for them and/or a major airport, I would consider raising tropical/ornamental fish like Asian Arowanas or something cool. A friend in Europe wants me to breed and raise reptiles too.

:D Fish farming supplies are ready available as are pellets for it as our apartment is about 1 hour away from a huge tidal fish farming area. Our farm is about 2 hours away from it. Fish stores outside metro Manila
(at Cartimar) and the 2nd largest city Cebu are common and well stocked with fish, but not so much in the supplies department. Luckily I have fish keeping friends in the states and can get stuff shipped over easily. ($65 to ship a 2' x 2' x 1.5' "balikbayan box") I get stuff shipped to a private P.O. box or to my sisters after ordering online, and when the pile gets big enough I have stuff shipped over here. Singapore is also relatively close by air, and when I'm ready for alot of fish again I'll definitely order some cool Asian Aros! :headbang2 Aquariums are about 50 cents to $1 U.S. a gallon to have made. 100% silicone sealant is readily available as is cheap (if not thin) glass.
