How To Notch Overflow?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For the original question: Wire cutters / snips generally work nicely on tabs like those shown.

Bummer on the stand! Definitely a packaging problem as none of the freight carriers are careful when it comes to handling freight!

What freight carrier are they using Im wondering if this is the problem. Some of them are really rough on the stuff there carrying

YRC is the freight company. It's almost unbelievable that BOTH stands were damaged upon arrival. And, to have people come over to help lift the tank onto the stand, twice, was like adding insult to injury.

When we move our FRT over to the new tank, we'll weigh and measure him. We haven't taken him out of his tank in about 3 years. Right now, he is in a 110 gallon Oceanic tall tank. The front to back distance, or the lack of, is the reason we needed to upgrade to the 300 gallon tank. The 300 has front to back distance of 3 feet.

Wow impressive specimen. :WHOA: that turtle looks HUGE
A tank upgrade will make that turtle very happy. thank you for posting that picture .
good luck with the stand issue

Thanks, Mike! There is a matching canopy, too. But, I'll have to recruit another person to help lift it onto the tank, because it's too heavy for my wife to help.

Here's a pic of RA heading into his new tank.

And here he is cruising the new surroundings. So far, just the CaribSea Ivory Coast sand (250 lbs) as decoration.

Thanks! So far, so good. The Marineland Model 4 Sump was really easy to set up. We'll see if it can keep up with the bio-load from our FRT and the fish we stock the tank with. Because FRT's can be quite messy, we're going to stock the tank with Rainbows, Congo Tetras, & Synodontis multipunctatus. That should help keep the bioload down some.
