I feed them whole or chopped but always with the entire shrimp included.

I think all foods should be fed whole. The guts etc have lots of nutrition. Nobody filets them in the river!

Do you have a counter argument or just being ambiguously playful? I think, indeed, all/almost all predators like the catfishes, perch-likes, characins, predatory cyprinids, gobies, pikes, eels, etc. and marine predatory fish too swallow their prey whole if they can. Only if they can't will they try to bite or tear off chunks.

Surely, the dentition of some is geared more towards serration and cutting while that of others towards just capturing and holding down but all of them I think will not bother with dismemberment of something they can simply swallow whole.
