How to properly clean filter?

I clean the rubber pipes with a long stick. i rinse out the inside of my canister and add filter floss.

I rinse my bio in acbucket of tank water and spray the sponges with hotwater from the kitchen sink sprayer.

When filling the canister filter back with water should I use the water taken form the water change or should I use de-chlorinated tap water?

Do you have the double tap disconnects on the hoses? If so no need to even put water in the filter as long as the intake tube is full of water. Just open the valves ad it'll fill up itself. Then plug 'er in.

Personally I would clean the sponges with hot tap water and get them clean as possible. The is more then enough ceramic media in the 2213 to house the BB, and this should be rinsed with clean tank water.

Ok I will do that, and yes I have the disconnect things on.
