that rtc will eat those two fish in about 3 weeks but you can feed them silversides krill prawns, shrimp

I would say pacu are one of the few fish that have a good chance at keeping up with an rtc's growth.

they stick together, and pacu just rips it apart but that'd be at the bottom already and rtc eats it too :P and thanks for your comment, i appreciate it!

I am not the one with the thread. Also the captive BB grouper average is 4 ft. Not to much of a problem. I also have people offering me plenty of cash for this fish. You don't know my finances or my personal story with the fish. Dallas world aquarium also said they would be happy to take him when i get him to a large enough size. So once again i will tell you, ask before you accuse and make yourself look like a fool. I asked for his plans, this helped me figure out what i am going to do with my fish when the time comes. Thanks for your concern.

55 gallon
125 gallon
210 gallon
360 12ft tank.

All under a year of upgrading. Is it the fact that i might have the money to take care of this fish and have a tank that you would drool over? My fish is in healthy condition and i have plans. So whats your arguement again?
And your 12 footer is only 2 foot wide and you live with your parents ....

Anyways OP. You are gonna catch a lot of flack here. I however admire the fish they are great specimens I just hope you have a good plan for them when they grow beyond the 220. A pond build can be fun and a great experience. I know both species are incredible characters ! And they certainly grow very quickly.

Id say you look like a crafty guy have a look at the DIY area and see if anything catches your eye!

that food you made looks great!!!!

well done for taking on a challenge and havin a plan of action if things go wrong....

thanks tcarswell and scottswald. i actually took a picture after they have become cubes, and i now store these food in a sealed bag in the freezer. and i can sense the time is coming soon on a plywood build lol...

LOL mshill90 nice tanks!

here are the pictures

after 1 night freezing, i put them in to a sealed bag

Hey Kevin,
I rescued my RTC at 2 inches, and he has now reached 11 inches. At first all he would eat is bloodworms and market shrimp. Soon after he started accepting tilapia, but nothing else. When he hit around 8 inches, I started trying to get him to start accepting pellet. After a few weeks of trying I can proudly say that he readily accepts anything thrown in, with pellet going in the most. I feed him a mix of veggie pellets, spirulina pellets, krill pellets, along with catfish stix and massivore. I had to stuff the shrimp with pellet before he would start eating it, but once he had it, he loves it. I noticed a growth spurt in him once this regimen started. He really bulked upI got him in August 09 at 2 inches, and now 7 months later, he's already grown 5.5 times that size. They are wonderful creatures, full of personality and wonder. I liked him the day I got him, but I didn't actually fall in love with him until he hit about 8 inches when his personality blossomed. He begs when you enter the room, (which is the living room where we ALWAYS are...) so he constantly begs. His best buddy is a Lima, who never leaves his side. I hope enjoy him, and hope that you fall for him the way most RTC owners fall for theirs. I know that my Joker will be with me forever. We are currently doing the home search thing, and its funny because every house we look at, we look to see where the ponds will be going lol. My hubby gets his koi pond, I get my cat pond :) ( I just get the bigger one lol)
