how to quicken a cycle?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Does the filter in the 75g look like its building up bacteria?

Well, you can start doing small w/c's with water from the 120g in 5g increments, twice a day with the theory that the dirtier the tank the faster the bacteria in the filter will grow since it has already been cycling so long.

How long before the fish arrive ?

By the way good score on the fish. Rather big tho, you maybe looking for another tank quick.

lmao he just has to last a month or 2 in the 75gallon so my arowana can grow some more.

i've had my arowana for about 2 weeks now and hes gotten 2" bigger and is bulking up so im guessing he will be a big boy in a couple months

i get the fish this weekend i think on sunday.

i added some cycle stuff and put about 24 rosie reds in there. i will take them out saturday and add some salt, and the rosie reds will go into my 29 gallon

Go to the LFS and ask them to squeeze a sponge into a bag for you from there tanks, add this water into your tank and vola you have an instant cycle. I have used the old water from another tank before and if the tank it has come from is not really well maintained you can do it. The better the maintained tank needs a larger water deposit. I would just do a 75 gallon water change on your 125, that would jump start for you. even a 60 or 50.... after you do that just check your water parameters.

Thanks a bunch i do w/c every wend and sunday so tomorrow ill take out 50% of the tank and put it into my 75gallon
