Yep 50% a day I have them in a 90 gallon so 45 gallons a day isn't bad. And it's normal tank lights with a great camera and regular flash.

Thats exactly what I am doing on my 90-gallon tank with 6 growout Orinos, sometimes I switch it up and do even 60%,70% and even up to 80% with no problems at all, using Prime.

The more I do, the more vigorous the fish look. A few days ago I had food posioning from a restaurant. I was stuck in bed for almost 2-days. I skipped the daily water change on my tank. At the end of day-2 I felt better, went to feed them, and they didn't eat as well, they even looked more sluggish.

I'm sure they would still be fine if I DID NOT do daily changes, but I bet they wouldn't grow as fast.

Even with 2-canisters on my 90-G, after 2-days without the normal daily water changes I could see the difference in the fish.

I remember reading an article by Jack Wattley a few years ago. He did this experiment growing out baby discus, I can't remember all the details, but I think there were 10 baby discus in a 10-gallon tank, 10 baby discus in a 20-gallon tank, the ones in the 10-gallon tank fed once a day, the ones in the 20-gallon tank fed twice a day. The ones in the 10-gallon-tank received 90% daily water changes, were the ones in the 20-gallon received something like 50% every 3-days.

In the end the 10 in the smaller tank with less meals, and more crowded, BUT with 90% daily changes were bigger then the other group.
