Is this tank filled?

BETTER NOT BE! WHY FILL AND THEN LIFT? THERE GOES THE TANK...BUSTED IN PIECES!

Thanks for the feedback, ya'll. I wasn't planning on lifting it myself--those days are long gone!! The good ole boys who live on the farm live with or are married to women who used to be my friends, but now they've paired up, I guess they see me as a threat--just like a bunch of damn women!! Sometimes I have no respect for my own gender!! And those dudes ain't no prizes in my book, just used to be good friends, too. So to have them in my house helping . . . . I might throw them down on my li'l ole bed and have at 'em all at once LOL. So I'm ucked in that respect. Maybe ask the neighbors--I could scrape up 3 men!!! Gotta get this up--I've got 8 fish coming from Jeff Rapps and gotta get this sucker up and going (running the 2 canisters on 55g to get media going, and it's overcrowded).

I live in a 14 foot wide mobile home. The tank is on the carpeted floor, in LR, in a crossways position (taking up half of width). The stand is next to it--forgot it's 7 feet long. So I need to raise it--I do have a couple of nylon woven come-alongs, might the straps work? I know they're strong enough, used one on my 1200 lb Quarterhorse to get her on trailer once. Would it be too much pressure to place them a foot or two into the length, running underneath, and 4 of us lift at once, parallel to the stand? Again, thanks!!! (Gotta figure this out, since I'll probably be needing another big tank in the not too distant future!!)

TANK HAS NEVER been filled; bought it in May, been getting everything else together plus looking for a job. Pick up a filled tank? Are you freakin nuts? That would be like 1500 pounds or more. Use your brain.

Just read your post, BigPleco. Good idea; a 6-pack of ice cold Bud might get 'em over!!! (Not my taste in beer, by the way :naughty: )

If you can find some of these (since your going to be needing them again)...

The straps will work just a little difficult to get under it and remove.

If you can get some good milk crates (six), lift in two stages...first to the crates then readjust the straps and lift again.

Don't forget to post some pix of the fiasco... I mean fun...ya that's it fun. :D

Beer after the move!

Good Luck...we're cheering for you...

.

this is the most important step you dont need a tank full of barf or worse a floor full of drunk bloody people and glass every where.

Yeah i dont have much trouble getting my tanks moved. Got one buddy who loves fish and has almost the same love for a good beer...

I just can't understand why when they are right there can't take 3 minutes and lift it for you.... but best of luck to you....

I also suggest the beer method and if u should get some pizza or burgers going it will help your situation good luck.

What a great post.

So have you slept with said men in the past?
Is that why the women are no longer friends?

Use your brain. Classic
