How to Raise PH level?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey tropheus thanks for the info, i gotta ask though if your doin water changes soo
infrequently how the hell do you keep your nitrates from going through the roof.

my tanks are fully planted with easy growing low light plants , they use up the nitrate and phos, and keep the tank water great . without many plants you do indeed have to do more changes than i do , also i feed very carfully useally frozen foods ,there is little waste ,and i genrally run enough filteration to filter the tank twice over and each tank has only 1 pair or a small group of channa in each ,

before i went with live plants i did indeed have to do more frequent changes though as nitrate level would get very high if left for too long .

Ah, this thread is reassuring me some. Been worrying my Ph is too low as it sits round 6-6.5 in my Mirco's tank. My other fish tanks all around 7.

Have noticed the Ph lowers very quicky in the micro tank, but thinking thats cause its smaller compared to the other tank.

yep i would not worry about the ph at 6 at all , you are right ph will drop quicker if you have a smaller tank with something like a micro in it ,as the waste it produces in turns brings the ph down.
