Just curios to what some of you owners do after a water change to de-stress your flowerhorns? Its been almost 3 days after I did the first water change for my 2" kamfa and now hes so scared when I approach the tank, he hides alot and hates when I turn on the light, and only comes out to get a pellet or two. He was energetic the first week but now super stressed after the water change, guessing the pump for the vacuum scared him? I know there are no parasites as I already treated the tank several times and hes eating NLS Thera +A, nor do I overfeed for SBD. Maybe some aloe vera stress-coat? :1zhelp:

I would put some stress coat in the water and maybe some salt too. Maybe keep the lights off for a day after you do a water change or do water changes close to the time that you turn the lights off for the night so he has some time to recoup. I always did my water changes right before I turned the lights off for the night. Might help.

My Oscar was very sensitive to water changes, but when I started feeding him extra treats afterwards (it only took until the 2nd WC), he recuperates faster :D
