Its there a way i could remove those micro scratches from my aquarium glass, its not noticeable when filled with water but im gonna be taking picture of the fish and stuff and it shows up in the pic.
A lot of people say that you can't buff scratches from glass, but this isn't true. I've done it before. You can buff scratches from glass if they're not too deep. It just takes about 100 times the effort as it would versus an acrylic window. Because of this a buffing disk on a right angle grinder is your best bet. You can use toothpaste.
you can get scratches out of glass, but you have to actually remove material and anytime you do that more than likely you will have some distortion in this area.
If they are not terrible I would just live with it.
I'm sure its still possible. So yeah, it would take longer to buff out.
Another possible alternative is to see about a crack filler (like windshield repair kits...this is all they do is just fill the crack rendering them invisible)
I'm with BigG tho...if they're pretty much invisible once under water why bother?
When taking pics you learn where the scratches are and try to avoid them, and I have plenty on my tanks. They are definitely a pain in the arse though, you get what you think is a decent pic, and then out pops that seemingly invisible scratch.
The trick is that you don't actually buff out the scratches, but soften the edges so they aren't visible anymore. I've had good luck before using turtle was polishing compound that you would use to remove swirl marks from a cars finish. This with a dual action buffer has done the trick for me before.
From my experience, if you run your finger nail through it and it catches its not worth the time to remove it. Just live with it lol. You can use jewelry stone to "polish" the area but then again its going to take forever but I find its faster than a buffer but a little more tedious as your the power.
