Step 2: Add Convicts (male and female)
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Proft.

mine are breeding at 1inch now, i just can not keep the fry alive atm :/

2m / 5f

seen 2 spawns of eggs in the past 10days

I have a question about the substrate. I have wrigglers about to be free-swimmers. The female keeps moving around the school and she keeps loosing them in the larger substrate I have. I just pulled about 15-20 skattered throughout the substrate after she was convinced she did a good job moving them.

It was kinda funny actually, she'd wait for me to spit em out with the pipette, attack it twice, and put the kid back with the others.

Is there a substrate that works better for breeding, especially with the parents themselves being so small (1 inch), or will the lost wrigglers join back together once they're free-swimming (tomorrow or the next day)

I'm just a little bummed cause what looked like 100-200 eggs is now lookin like a couple dozen wrigglers.

Young parents...

FYI - never put young in a breeder net.. parents attempt re-collection through the netting = swiss cheese convicts.

if your using gravel use sand or better yet bare bottom

With sand doesn't the grain mess up the filter?
I have an aqueon 20 with a cut aquaclear sponge covering the intake. (I think this may be unnecessary.)

How to breed convicts in 3 easy steps:

1) buy tank
2) put water, heater, and anything flat and non-toxic in tank
3) put convicts in tank

The only animals on earth that breed faster than convicts are high school students on the East Coast.

put a flower pot in there done hahaha
