I set up a 75g tetra tank. No plants so far, but plenty of rocks and cover, with ample swimming room. However, one school chills on the left side of the tank, and the other schools to the far right. Pretty much no one stays a long time in the middle, which makes the tank look pretty dumb. How can I spread them out? Can it be I have to much water movement, and they huddle in areas of low circulation?

not even one look? c'mon :)

I looked but you dont have any pics in your Gallery LOL, Really I have no idea. I dont think I every had tetras before :(

maybe you could feed in the middle all the time, to make them swim over there more often.

tried it, but they go right back to their corners. No clamped fins, no unhealthy looking fish...they just prefer to chill in the back corners

blue, glowlight, lemon, bleeding heart

blue are the only ones who swim in the middle regularly

ya, I think it would take some time. Allot of repetition for it to sink in there heads. Maybe you put two little air stones to shake things up on each side.

i was thinking of cramming up their corners with plants, forcing them to move to the middle...

try one bigger nonaggessive fish to motivate them.
