How to stop dead spots and poop collecting in them

Lmao I just have a funny image of jabbing at a pile of poo. If you want to keep you sand turning over thn get some trumpetsnails they dig in and you won't see them very much.

Will they be ok with canister filters?I heard they can destroy the impeller.

Also that they lay eggs that get sucked into the filter and hatch out and invest the canister.

I have had them in my tanks for over 4 years, I have external filters on all tanks with no problems yet.

I have trumpet snails as well but their not man enough on their own and it's better to be safe than sorry
