My oscars are swiming against the glass almost all day. They are begging for food. When I feed them they are busy for a while, but than they'll start again.
I do try to feed them around the same time. But they already start in the morning, when the tanks lights arn't even on yet.

Cichlids like to swim up and down the glass, it's very common. They are content and relaxed when they do this. My oscar does this as well and he gets fed three times a day and will do it right after he gets fged.

why dont you like your fish swimming against the glass?

how big is the tank and how big are the oscars? what deco do you have in the tank?

Oscars always do this ...especially when smaller. This is why people (including myself) love oscars so much. They are personable and that's their way of saying " hey buddy how are ya?Do you think you might feel like tossing us in some food?" They always think they're hungry and that's just what they do.

1. this happens with Oscars (happened with me to the point that he rubbed his lip raw).
2. I think a very large tank may help, not sure.

3. glass running is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, and i've found I can't keep those fish for very long, as they get on my nerves. I need tranquility.

Only way to stop it is to wrap the whole tank in a background. But then there is no point in having a tank lol.

hide so they cant see you, your the reason they do it. They know you equal food.

maybe give them something to occupy them? a couple of golf balls to play with, or a floating plastic ball?

i give my Gus toys to play with on occasion. it's hilarious to see him chase his floaty orange plastic ball across the tank like a bat out of heck, lol.
