Was wondering (after loading some not to great pics) how in the hell do yall take such good pictures of your fish i took 60 to 70 and have 10 ok ones and 3 good ones. Most of my fish are fast movers (barbs, tetras) is that the reason. So please give up some of your secrets.

I researched this as well in the past and people told me you have to have a high shutter speed. Me not being a camera guy I dont know what that is. I looked it up one day then forgot lol. The camera I have has a smart mode. When I want to take a picture, I activate it and presto....good picture :)

I dont know what people use on this site but they are real good pictures. I would assume a 18megapixel with good lighting. My old neighbor had a 18megapixel and it took amazing pictures but he was also a photographer so yeah.

A lot has to do with proper lighting. Some of the more serious photographers use remote flashes and a blacked-out room. That said, I am more of a three-good-photos-out-of-a-hundred kind of photographer...

Patience.

Mine is just a 8mp camera and I get pictures like this all the time.

IMG_7305.JPGIMG_7295.JPGDon't forget your aperture. And If you let your shutter speed drag a bit and not set it as high you are able to capture motion. Motion can sometimes create interest. If you have you shutter speed real high when you are shooting cars racing it will look like the cars are sitting still (you can take that shot with the car sitting still). If you follow the car with your camera and then shoot, you will capture the motion of the background as the (clear) fast car drives by. It can be a tricky shot but can reward you with some interesting photos that create interest. Just another way :)
