How to tell fish gender?

With live bearing fish like Guppies, Platies, and Swordtails it fairly simple.

The males anal fin has pointed elongated tip and the females is round.

kenyi cichlid adult males are yellow, females and young males are blue.

For cichlids in general the male usually grows larger then females and males show more color then females.

That is true for most part. One of the exceptions being Festae, I would say the female is much more colorful than the male is.

Ya i wasn't sure if this goes for all species of cichlids but I think it goes for most cichlid species.
