How to tell Retroculus Xinguensis from Lapidifer at 2"?

Yeah it was a good deal lol, my LFS gets the Belem lists so he can get almost anything. It's nice to have a LFS like that and to be close with the owner :)

Little update on my lapidifer finally got him on pellets he just randomly ate them when i was feeding the other fish. And my small xinguensis is taking pellets. How is everyone elses retroculus doing?

I didn't want to make a whole thread about it but figured it was good information on a thread like this.

Lost one of my Laps (smaller one) last night. There was no apparent reason. Just like the typical Retroculus "unknown" deaths. I am not really upset about it. I knew it going in that some retros are susceptible to these unknown formalities. I am now down to 1 Xingu and 1 Lap.
 
One of my xinguensis is developing yellow on its lips and face. Anyone have any update on their. I know its been sometime so just wanted to see if any updates from people keeping them.

My xingu hasnt gotten any yellow yet but my lapidifer has gotten alot more spangles and are getting to be noticable more often now
